I attended The Four Elements of Spine Coding presentation sponsored by Stryker last night. Barbara Cataletto (Business Dynamics), did an EPIC job of giving an overview/review of basic spine coding, reimbursement practices and future happenings. The information she shared in that short of time was impressive! I have been in the medical practice since 1980 and attended many workshops. The workshop I attended in April of 2013 given by Dr. and Barbara Cataletto was far the best one I have ever attended. I was so impressed with the information they both shared (from anatomy, reading op notes, coding, reimbursement and appeals). I went back to work with so much more confidence. If you perform spine coding, I highly recommend the coder(s) in your practice attend this workshop. It doesn't matter if the coder is a veteran or new to coding. I know I can't speak for other attendees but I can say the ones I talked to felt the same way I do.

As a medical industry sales representative, I feel that attending these sessions is one of the very few things I can do to better understand my surgeon client's business. I would like to thank The Business of Spine for all of their recent coding help. Their response time and efforts have been extremely helpful to me in the field. I recently had a new physician start using and liking our product but his office did not know exactly how to bill for it. They initially thought that he would be losing on his reimbursement by switching to our product. With little notice, Barbara was able to get me the coding information that I needed and I was able to keep the new business.
